INVITIATION & RSVP

ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES

Invitations to the 2008 Benefit Auction were sent home in the Brown Envelope on April 3rd and are available online along with a downloadable response card.

When you arrive, you will enjoy an open bar and appetizers from 6:00 - 7:00. Shoot some pool, toss some darts, play air hockey, foosball and enjoy the putting green. The silent auction and games of chance will also be available at this time.  The rest of the evening includes an Irish Dance presentation, full dinner, desserts, DJ and dancing and the always exciting live auction.  The evening will close with the "Luck of the Irish" Raffle Drawing.

GAMES OF CHANCE
This year we have once again included some games of chance. Each guest will receive $2500 in chips to play Blackjack & Poker ChipsTexas Hold'em. Additional chips can be purchased throughout the evening. No expertise is needed to play- it is all for fun and the dealers will help teach you the games.   Your "winnings" will be used towards raffle tickets for our end of the evening "Luck of the Irish" Raffle prizes. You may also purchase chances on our 50/50 "Irish Sweepstakes". 50% of the cash proceeds collected will be awarded to the winner of the drawing and 50% will support the school.

WHAT FOOD & DRINK WILL BE SERVED?

Assorted hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:00 - 7:00 with the Open Bar.  A traditional Irish dinner at 7:00 followed by a coffee and dessert bar. Dinner includes: Steamship Round, Corned Beed, Salmon, Roasted Potatoes, Cole Slaw and Rolls.

Stop by the bar for a whiskey tasting, an Irish coffee or any of our specialty drinks throughout the evening (for a fee).

HOW TO ATTEND?
Invitations will be sent home via your child's backpack.  Please invite friends or neighbors.

WHAT IS A SILENT AUCTION?
In a silent auction, items available for bidding are displayed by category, including: class baskets, restaurants, sporting events, family activities, teacher sponsored activities, etc.. Throughout the evening, you can bid on any item by writing your auction number (provided at check-in) on the bidding sheet provided.  Check back frequently to increase your bid if someone has overbid you.  The highest bid posted when the tables are closed wins the item for the posted bid amount.

WHAT IS A LIVE AUCTION?
Our most exciting items and activities are saved for our live auction, including: a beach vacation home, "party bus" by Mr. Lonesome, dinner by Fr. Weymes, etc..  In a live auction, the master of ceremonies will describe the item available for bid and open the bidding at a set minimum, which will increase as the bidding progresses.  At any point that you wish to bid for the announced amount, simply raise your program (which has your auction number) high enough for the master of ceremonies to see.  Bidding will close when there are no higher bids offered.  The master of ceremonies will announce the winner.

LUCK OF THE IRISH RAFFLE:
There will be a wide assortment of prizes to interest everyone. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the door or you may cash in your winning chips for raffle tickets.

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR ITEM?
At the end of the evening, you will proceed to the check out table. At this time, you will pay for any bids (silent or live) that you have won.  You will only need to write one check to St. Timothy PTO or may pay by Visa or Mastercard and will be able to take home what you have purchased.

HOW WILL THE PROCEEDS BE USED?
All profits from this event will be used to purchase: 4 additional Activboards for Science, Library, Art and Music; 10 illuminators to enhance current Activboard capabilities; a projector/screen equipment for the gym to be used during assemblies.

Donating & Advertising

How to advertise in the Auction Program?
Advertisements available for the auction program include: $100 - Full Page; $50 - Half Page; $25 - Quarter Page. Please submit the Business Advertising Contract: to the front office c/o "Auction" by March 21st. For questions on layout or printing, contact Jamie Biedleman.

How to become a Sponsor?
The generosity of sponsor contributions help underwrite the costs of the Auction. All Sponsors will have a placard prominently displayed on the table of sponsorship as well as a one quarter page advertisement in the Gala Program book. Sponsorships are available at the following levels: $100, $200, $300, $400, $500. Please complete and return the Auction Sponsor Form with payment to the front office c/o "Auction" by March 21st.

How to solicit donations?
Visit the businesses you frequently support and ask if they would be willing to donate a good or service to the St. Timothy School Auction. Not only is it an opportunity for community service, but also a method of advertising their business. If you are requesting a donation for the Auction, present the Donation Request Letter, which has information on our tax-exempt status.  All donors need to complete the Donation Agreement Form and submit, along with the donation c/o "Auction".
If you have any talents, services or goods you would like to donate, fill out the Donation Agreement Form or contact Christine Schoen with your idea.
