SPIRITUAL GOALS:  To develop a personal relationship with Christ and a love for our Catholic faith.

ACADEMIC GOALS: To develop resourceful learners who:

  • Manage their belongings and their daily schedules
  • Budget their time wisely for both short and long term assignments
  • Discover which study techniques bring them the most success
  • Clearly express their own ideas and actively listen to the ideas of others
  • Have confidence in their strengths, and compensate for their weaknesses

SOCIAL GOALS: To learn positive ways of interacting with peers and adults while entering adolescence.

SCHOOLWIDE CODE OF CONDUCT

All students at St. Timothy School, regardless of grade, are expected to follow the Schoolwide Code of Conduct
  • Treat everyone with respect in word and action
  • Come to school properly prepared
  • Follow instructions given by an adult
  • Walk quietly through the halls
  • Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself

School Rules:  Please assist us by supporting our school rules.  Refer to the Handbook for policies regarding: Uniform dress code; Discipline and behavior; Grades, promotion and honor awards; Locker privileges.

Absences: Students should call a friend for assignments and arrange to copy any notes.  It is the student's responsibility to schedule make-up tests and to bring completed work to me.  Students should check SchoolNotes and be on the "notify me" list.  Assignments wil be posted there.

Curriculum: St. Timothy's follows the Diocese of Arlington Curriculum Guidelines.

JUNIOR HIGH SPANISH

Junior High students have Spanish class four days per week, Monday through Thursday.  This year, classes will be taught "todo en espanol" (all in Spanish). Schoolnotes:  Class assignments and project instructions are available on my SchoolNotes site.

LANGUAGE ARTS

Course content follows Diocesan Curriculum guidelines.  Textbooks, student notes and handouts are utilized as resources.

Goal:  To provide our students with the oral and written word skills needed to communicate their ideas in a logical, clear and effective manner

Our apprentice writers will be given ample opportunity to practice these skills as they write across the curriculum.

** Please purchase a Student Dictionary for your child(ren) to use in both 7A and 7B Language Arts classes.  Due Date: 09/04/07.

RELIGION

Course content follows Diocesan Curriculum guidelines.  Textbooks, student notes and handouts are utilized as resources.

Goal:  To study the basic tenets of our Catholic Faith and to provide experiences for growth in their relationship with Christ and others.  Students will realize that Catholicism is a way of life, both in Word and in Action.
