About St. Timothy
St. Timothy Catholic School is a co-educational school dedicated to educating students from preschool through eighth grade. Located in Chantilly, Va., St. Timothy School has served the surrounding community and the Diocese of Arlington for more than 30 years, maintaining a tradition of academic excellence.
A dynamic and supportive learning environment enables students to meet the high standards set at St. Timothy School. Led by an all-lay administration and faculty, the school teaches the whole child in order to bring out joy of learning in each pupil. Teachers give attention to each individual student, while innovative teaching strategies push students to reach their full potential. St. Timothy students score above diocesan and national Terra Nova standardized testing averages. The Department of Education named St. Timothy a Blue Ribbon School in 2000-2001. The school is accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA), whose accreditation process has been approved by the Virginia Council for Private Education Committee on Accreditation as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education.
Students become part of a vibrant community. From the school newspaper, The Tiger Times, to the service club, the Mission Commission, enriching experiences are integrated into the curriculum. Students can choose from a myriad of opportunities to expand their horizons and boost their self-confidence, whether onstage at the Diocesan Shakespeare Festival or on the basketball court.
The education at St. Timothy School is strengthened by its roots in Christ. Through daily religious instruction, weekly worship at Mass, and a curriculum rich in the Catholic tradition, St. Timothy students actively live their faith. Children have the freedom to express their beliefs, allowing them to grow spiritually as well as intellectually. St. Timothy School fosters an environment that encourages students to be active learners in all areas of their lives.
