Welcome back! I have a few reminders as we get ready for our first day of school:
We now have a new Coordinator of Recess Volunteers. Mrs. Kim Urlwin has graciously taken on this very important task. It is imperative to have sufficient supervision during this very active time for students. Please be aware that this is true both when the students are able to enjoy the fresh air, or when weather concerns has them inside. Mrs. Urlwin will have a formal request that addresses exactly what she needs in the days to come. In the meantime, please contact her at recess@sainttimothyschool.org to indicate your willingness to help with student activity.
SAVE THE DATE: FALL CLASSIC-BACK TO SCHOOL GET TOGETHER, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 4:00-7:00 PM.
Some important reminders from our our school nurse:
RISING 6TH GRADE STUDENTS:
The TDaP must be administered prior to the first day of school. There will be no grace periods or extensions. If your physician wishes to defer the immunization until the student is 11 years old, you are required to provide a medical exemption to the school from the physician. All documentation must be submitted by the first day of school (August 30, 2010); otherwise, the student will not be permitted to attend until the documentation is received (per the Commonwealth of VA).
HEALTH FORMS:
For those students who are new to STS, please ensure that all Commonwealth of Virginia Health Assessments are in the office before the first day of school. Also, for those students who have transitioned from preschool to kindergarten, please have the physician’s office complete the new Commonwealth of VA Health Form.
Kindergarten Assessments: Please verify that the Kindergarten Health Assessment is 100% complete and signed by both the health care provider and the parent. Also, verify that the pediatrician has completed the hearing and vision screening portion of this assessment. These screenings are imperative for successful learning!
Finally. I ask that you please keep Mrs. Teresa O'Leary and her family in your prayers.
Mrs. Patricia Kobyra
